Janice Mackey’s practice focuses on business law, estate planning and real estate. She enjoys working with small and medium sized businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals. Her experience includes counseling clients on the appropriate choice of business entity, preparing entity formation documents, counseling on and drafting employment agreements and handbooks, reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial leases and business acquisition agreements, counseling on estate planning, and preparing wills and trusts.
Ms. Mackey is a frequent guest speaker at the Lane Community College Small Business Development Center and presented a series entitled “Legal Issues for the Small Business.” She also has presented seminars on contracts, choice of entity and the formation process, employment law, and trusts, wills and estate planning.
In addition, Ms. Mackey is active within the community and serves on the following boards, committees and civic organizations: Eugene Springfield Tax Association board, Girl Scouts of Western River Council, Lane County Economic Development Standing Committee, Eugene Rotary, and the Mohawk Grange.
Ms. Mackey received her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, Order of the Coif, where she was an articles editor for the Oregon Law Review. She also has a B.S. in Business Administration: Marketing from the University of Oregon School of Business. Prior to entering law school, Ms. Mackey’s career focused on non-profit administration.
