Christy K. Monson Christy K. Monson specializes in municipal law and state and local government relations. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2000 and is admitted to the Oregon Bar. From 2000-2006, Christy served as Legal Counsel and Lobbyist for the League of Oregon Cities, where she specialized in advising, lobbying, and negotiating various municipal issues, including: public records, open meetings, government process and ethics, police and fire issues, and public contracting. Christy now represents both government and private associations both as legal counsel and as an advocate before the Oregon legislature and state agencies. Prior to practicing law, Christy was a public relations and marketing specialist for governmental bodies and political campaigns.
She is a frequent lecturer and trainer at state and national government conferences and specializes in interactive, audience-driven presentations. Her speaking topics have included updates on the Oregon legislature; overviews on open meetings, public records, and government ethics laws; and the development of national legislative trends in municipal law.
Christy is a member of the Executive Committee of the Government Law Section of the Oregon State Bar, as well as a member of the Oregon City Attorneys Association.
