Russell Poppe represents Oregon businesses as well as municipalities and special districts. He has extensive experience in all phases of employment law, including employee relations, hiring, discipline, termination, and investigation of harassment or discrimination claims. He also provides trainings on employment law best practices including topics such as the Americans With Disabilities Act and sexual harassment. Russell is very knowledgeable about real estate transaction law. Russell also represents fire districts and cities. He co-authored a policy manual for fire districts and has written many policy manuals for cities, special districts and private businesses. Russell lectures at conferences for special districts.
Before joining Speer Hoyt, Russell was a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
Russell is past chair of the Lane County Attorney/Realtor Committee and past board president of the local chapter of the American Red Cross. Russell and his wife enjoy exploring the Northwest on their motorcycles.
