Travis joined Speer Hoyt LLC in September, 2008, after several years of successful practice with
prominent firms in Washington and Oregon. Travis began his career as a litigator and trial attorney,
but his practice has evolved to include estate and business planning, trust and probate administration,
and transactional matters in addition to contested case work. He has significant trial, ADR, appellate
and motion practice experience. Particular areas of interest and experience include intellectual
property counseling and litigation; employment and construction law and litigation; real property
transactional drafting and litigation; and non-profit corporate law and taxation.
In addition to practicing law, Travis has run his own business and taught business law at the
college level. Travis has published papers on market-based solutions to environmental problems,
including a paper on facilitating salmon recovery through a price-based harvest system. He has served
on the Board of Directors of several non-profit corporations and currently sits on the Board of the
Eugene-Springfield Tax Association. He also serves on the Eugene Chamber of Commerce's Local
Government Affairs Council and is a member of Eugene Southtowne Rotary.
Personal:
Travis and his wife, Amy, met in Eugene. In his spare time, Travis enjoys introducing his three
children to the world around them. Travis traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and
Southeast Asia as a young adult and hopes to do more of that with his family.
